The second image created for my negotiated project. This image is a typographic screen print inspired by Spike Milligan's poem, 'The Merry Boxer', and Retro boxing posters were the aesthetic inspiration. I may also produce a fully textured digital version of this to accompany.
I'm also interested in selling them to see if there is actually any market for them. They're a limited edition run of ten, and each piece will be signed and numbered. If you're interested, give me an email at email@example.com, and i'll see what I can do.
This is the first in a series of images (hopefully 10) responding to Spike Milligan's poetry. This one is in response to 'Sailor John' which can be found in his 1965 book, The little Pot-Boiler. Initially, i chose the poem because I wanted to find an excuse to do something pirate ship based, but I found myself preferring this route visually.
This is my submission for the Fedrigoni ImaginativeColours brief. Having trouble finding out how to upload/submit this one, but i'm working on that. It's been nice to have some non character based work, but now I want to get back to some character design...!
